After finding you formula, you take about a nickel size of the mixture and massage it on your face. It will take off make up or any that a make wipe may have left behind. After massaging for about a minute, wash your hands. Grab a washcloth you don't mind getting make on if you wear it. And run under HOT water. Ring the washcloth out and put on your face until it cools. (I do this 2-3times). After run the cloth under hot water and gently wipe the oil off your face. You may think your skin was oily but I found that I had never felt my skin be that soft before. Remember oil dissolves oils, so don't worry about putting oil on your face. It's best to do this at night before bed.
Once a week I use a baking soda mask. This will exfoliate your skin and heal or bring up any break outs. In a small bowl add some baking soda and a little water. Make a thick paste and spread on your skin. You may feel tingling, which the backing soda doing it work. I let it sit about 20 mins and wash off with cool water.
I also in between use milk and backing soda. This will really remove those black heads. 1TBS of backing soda and a little milk. You want your mixture to be kind of runny. Dip a Cotten in if and wipe on your face. After 5 minutes wash off with cool water, scrubbing softest if you want.
Because I can only oil a few times a week, I do use cetaphil daily cleanser. This has been very kind to my skin and recommend it if you don't want to oil cleanse. I know the thought of oil on your face can be scary. But I swear it will change your skin.
