My current skin care routine

As well as trying to find the right shampoo for me, I am also trying to find the right skin care. In the last 6 months, I have dropped traditional cleansers and started oil cleaning. Sounds strange doesn't it? But after a month of using castor oil and extra virgin olive oil, my skin finally cleared. There was no more cyst type acne or tons of black heads. I noticed the 1st time there was a difference in my skin. I broke out for the first few days and was surprised to see everything. In about 3 days the cysts had broke after having some for months to a year and the blackheads on my chin and jawline no longer existed. I still use oil cleaning but have cut back to a few times a week instead if everyday. This due to the heat where I live. Being that I have acne prone skin , I didn't want to change my formula. Now if you want to try oil cleaning this what you'll need;
  • Cold pressed castor oil( cold pressed is the best)
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • A little container with tight lid
  • A small funnel
Now if you have normal skin you will use a 1:1 ratio
Acne/oily skin you will use a 3:1ratio. (Example : 3TBS of castor oil, 1 of Evoo
Dry skin 1:3 ratio ( example : 1TBS of castor oil, 3of Evoo

After finding you formula, you take about a nickel size of the mixture and massage it on your face. It will take off make up or any that a make wipe may have left behind. After massaging for about a minute, wash your hands. Grab a washcloth you don't mind getting make on if you wear it. And run under HOT water. Ring the washcloth out and put on your face until it cools. (I do this 2-3times). After run the cloth under hot water and gently wipe the oil off your face. You may think your skin was oily but I found that I had never felt my skin be that soft before. Remember oil dissolves oils, so don't   worry about putting oil on your face. It's best to do this at night before bed.
Once a week I use a baking soda mask. This will exfoliate your skin and heal or bring up any break outs. In a small bowl add some baking soda and a little water. Make a thick paste and spread on your skin. You may feel tingling, which the backing soda doing it work. I let it sit about 20 mins and wash off with cool water.
I also in between use milk and backing soda. This will really remove those black heads. 1TBS of backing soda and a little milk. You want your mixture to be kind of runny. Dip a Cotten in if and wipe on your face. After 5 minutes wash off with cool water, scrubbing softest if you want.

Because I can only oil a few times a week, I do use cetaphil daily cleanser. This has been very kind to my skin and recommend it if you don't want to oil cleanse. I know the thought of oil on your face can be scary. But I swear it will change your skin.
